Changsha is the capital of Hunan Province. It’s a food city. Our list of ‘things to do in Changsha’ was mostly food streets and restaurants. There are 3 food streets: Po Zi Street – 坡子街, Huangxing Pedestrian Street – 黄兴路, and Nanmenkou Food Street – 南门口小吃街.
Most of the food in the video was found on Pozi Street. It is the place to go for lots of quick snacks. Big Sausage is a very famous treat. As is the notorious stinky tofu. Both were very good. We also had probably the most prolific item to consume. Sexy Tea, the Changsha chain shop that has over 100 locations in the city. It’s everywhere and they’re always swarming with people. We waited about 20 minutes for our sweet black tea with whip cream and candied pecans. It was well worth the wait.
Freshly cooked bready pancakes with pork and preserved plum.
Sweet fried glutinous rice balls.
Some super spicy double chili chicken.
Amazing pork ribs, and then an even more amazing pork ribs.
Lots more incredible food.

Stay tuned for day 2 where I get off the tourist food street and find some off the beaten path Changsha specialties.
