CHINESE Street Food! Exploring CHINATOWN in Jakarta Indonesia Food Tour
I LOVE Chinese food and wherever I go in the world it’s fun to see how Chinese food is adapted in the local region. In this video, I went to Indonesia’s LARGEST Chinatown in Jakarta and was blown away by the food!
I first stopped for some yummy noodles at Bakmi Amoy and got some of the tastiest noodles paired with a giant fried meatball.
Then it’s on for some coffee and cut up pork!

Its means it is not halal?
the bakso goreng you eat is 炸肉丸 ; sekbak is 卤肉 ; nasi campur is like 港式烧肉饭 but yeah with Hainanese Rice ; Chinese in SouthEast Asia mostly Chinese from Guangdong Area so mostly the chinese food here in Indonesia is influenced by that Region : Cantonese, Teochew, Hakka, Chaoshan, Hokkien cooking style.. assimilate with perhaps a little bit of Local Culture and Ingredient. You should try other province too in Indonesia with more thicker Chinese culture like Medan and Pontianak, try their local chinese food too. btw i think there are more famous noodle shop and chinese food in Jakarta, you should explore more that considered as "Local Champion".
If come to Indonesia i think International Foodie that wanted to review Indonesian food they should at least make 6 separated videos, consist of 5 local Indonesian food + 1 Indonesian Chinese Food, as there are 5 islands in Indonesia which each island have their own specialty and flavour that distinguish itself from other islands..

Aawww unfortunately..you should try nasi campur claypot by Sedap Wangi restaurant in that place. At the corner of foodcourt Gedung Chandra. It is one of the best hidden gem in Jakarta.
The food ingredients contain pork such as charsiew pork, boiled chicken/roast pecking duck, hainan rice, boiled egg, crispy roast pork accompanied with salted vegetable soup
You should try that Pi'oh sometimes. It taste surprisingly good
This makes me proud to be indonesian. You got some of the best classics here. Kopi Tak Kie is a bit over rated for me. Next time you are in Jakarta,visit Pantai Indah Kapuk and Pluit too, for more chinatown dishes!
