Trying Chinese Food! As part of our homeschool curriculum this month, we are learning about China and wanted to try some of the cuisine in celebration of Lunar New Year! It is important to note that China is HUGE and has many different cuisines across its regions. We are NOT experts and just beginning to learn about the wonderful foods from China and other Asian countries. We do not know which regions these foods are from specifically, but would love to learn if you have any information to share! Thank you so much! All of our videos are closed captioned and always family friendly.

  1. I think that stinky tofu was deep fried which cuts down on the stinkiness and the spices mask that as well. There are other ways people in China eat stinky tofu which is way more pungent you can literally smell it down the street when it’s served on the street.

  2. wow I've decided I don't want kids in this life but there are moments in my life where I catch myself reconsidering, and this video gave me that feeling haha. Sincerely, what a beautiful family.

  3. There is also an actual way to eat xiao long bao. You use chopsticks and a spoon and then take a small bite on the top. Drink the soup and then finish by eating the whole thing.

  4. Hi Ballinger Family, for Xiaolongbao, it kinda sounded like a Z instead of X when you pronounced it so instead of Zi-ao , change it to Xi-ao. it's kinda like Ci-ao but it's actually an X instead of a C or a Z. Sorry if its confusing

  5. this was my first time watching this channel so excuse me if this is how they normally do things. but i believe each person should have gotten their own plate of food with some of each food item to try, with reviews done at the end of "favorites" and "least favorites." this method was tedious to watch with each person eating a bite of each thing – i'll bet it was tedious for those involved too lol. just some tips for next time

  6. Adorable! So love to see kids were enjoying the food:-)The food they had probably most from northwest of China, those are good though, Chinese food could be very different from some others base on the differences of area and cultures.May try the hotpot next time, that’s my favourite, hopefully it could amaze the kids more:-)))

  8. I’m sorry to point this out but the vegan teacher hates
you guys and Colleen she’s made a video about you guys
And it’s not a good one she’s saying that your teaching
Your kids to eat more meat or something and she’s saying
Colleen shouldn’t get a cat because they eat meat I don’t
Agree and The Vegan teacher is a psycho.

  9. You should not forget that Chinese people are living in a communistic dictatorship. They have internment camps where their own people and ethnic minority groups like Uyghurs, Muslims etc. are captured and getting brainwashed. You aren't allowed to say anything against their President and Government. They also support the Russians as well.

  10. I have one question for you guys: I remember from a few years ago that Bailey had celiac disease or am I wrong? Now she seems fine and to be eating normally. Did something change or did I miss something? I’d love to hear back from you ☺️

  11. You guys should try chicken feet, pig trotters, mapu tofu, noodles like crossing the bridge noodles, biang biang noodles. You could also try roast duck or cantonese roast pork, soy sauce chicken, potato spicy sour stir-fry. For dessert you could try, mooncake, egg tarts, chinese fried dough, nian gao, red been buns (this may also come in chocolate, custard or salted egg), jin tui…there's a lot so it might take awhile to go through all of them. Just remember that asian spicy is SPICY like burn your tongue in hell fire then frozen so be careful when ordering for kids' consumption…

  12. Y'all should try scallion pancakes. I have no idea where to get them in California. I live in Georgia, and I haven't had much luck finding places that have it. But my mom's a kindergarten teacher, and her class had a party one time (pre-covid) where a parent made a bunch of them, and they were soo delicious.

  13. Man, watching this video is making me so hungry! I could totally devour those dumplings you all tried, they looked so good! I hope my parents get Chinese takeout for dinner now 🙂
