We’re Thomas and Sheena, food and travel fiends. We travel full time, hunting for the BEST local food in the world to showcase via our YouTube videos. Food is a window into a country’s culture and one of the most exciting ways to get to know a place.

We’re all about eating what and where the locals eat. You won’t find food that’s been created merely to be social media worthy on here- no rainbow bagels, gold leaf soft serves- just genuine, authentic food that tastes incredible.

From street food to mom and pop restaurants, we want to show you the best and most authentic food we find on our travels.

  1. Another phenomenal video (aren’t they all 😂). Love Cantonese cuisine – like Thomas said, the conviviality of yum cha is unparalleled (and everyone gets to try so many different dishes with communal dining – my favourite style of dining). Pearl Garden’s dim sum looks amazing, especially that jin dui (sesame glutinous rice ball with black sesame filling)! Roast meats are such a staple as well. Cantonese-style BBQ is in a class of its own, just like American-style BBQ smoked meats!!

  2. Yum, Auckland does have good Chinese food. Yum cha I like the weird dishes like chicken feet, spicy beef tripe. Wow so much Cantonese food in Auckland. Lots I haven't tried before, thanks for showing different types of Cantonese or hong kong food. 🤤

  3. Watching this I really hope these restaurants are doing with the lockdowns etc. Kia kaha. Awesome videos so enjoyable and interesting to watch. Making me want to expand my horizons in terms of cuisines!

  4. Sheena, the next time you go to have yum cha at this restaurant could you ask them for a copy of the order sheet and menu please and send to me at 41 Connolly Street Lower Hutt

  5. Sheena is definitely a true food lover…Thanks for showing us how to eat chicken feet never ordered chicken feet as I never knew whether it is rude to spit the bones out or hard to chew the feet.

  6. That bowl of beef brisket rice noodle seems like "Lai Fun??" I would have include one glutinous rice in lotus leaf wrapper in one of my dim sum meals. The last BBQ Meat Restaurant where Thomas ordered 3 kinds of meats on the rice plate, I wonder do they serve Roast Goose & Baby Suckling Pig as well??

  7. I'm literally drooling right now 😂 My wife and I wish we could have dim sum right now but alas NZ looks like a different world from NYC right now 😢

  8. Thank you for sharing! I love this video 👍👏. It shows authentic HK-style Cantonese cuisine that is difficult to find where I live. Watching this makes me salivate 😋. 🇺🇸
